maine swap TSC augusta sept 5th sunday

I don't know if I'm allowed to go to this swap. I want to get rid of one Jersey Giant (not sure of sex) and one silkie cockeral. Maybe two Cayuga ducks, but that is not likely.

why wouldn't you be allowed to go?

My family doesn't like "wasting time" there and also because of the really bad experiences of chicken swaps of the past. You might remember.

it's all in what you make it.

how did the swap go for those that attended?
I think this might be a hard weekend with the holiday and fairs going on.

Layers went really well. Smaller breeds not so well. Silkies did good. Ducks not a one

The weather was great for it, though. We didn't sell a whole lot but was happy with what we did sell, less to feed and it's always great to get out and talk to people.

Going to be something animal related on Oct. 2nd, will post when the details are set, right there at the Augusta TSC. Also the farmstock is still set for the 2nd Saturday. I believe she said they were also going to still do the poultry in Oct. will talk to her more and let everyone know.

She did OK, Thanks for asking. Took the breed in all, but one she entered and Res. Featherleg with her Buff silkie. The LF RIR Male her and Dad share did good too, took his breed and Res. American. Course this is all open no Junior class. She did real well at Union in Junior class and also well at Skowhegan in all open class, her Dark Cornish Hen was show champion. On to Farmington

Edited to add: She also took Ch. Pigeon at both Windsor and Union. I keep forgetting she has the pigeons.

Congratulations to Sarah.

I ended up going to the Sea Dogs game on Sunday so I didn't make it up to Augusta. Hard to justify a trip when I wasn't sure there would be anything I wanted. Of course I would have gladly ended up buying a duck or two.

. I like my chickens but I am really starting to like ducks more. Mess and all.
