Maintaining Brooder Temps - its 100 out here

I usually do chicks in the Spring. This year ordered poults, too, not realizing that with the waiting lists they wouldn't be arriving until Mid June. It is just shy of 100 here today. Night temps in 80's. They are due any day - will they be ok without a heat lamp? Too hot with it is my fear. My brooder is inside a shed, and has wood sides so no drafts.

I'd keep a lamp handy just in case. When you get them, you will be able to tell if they are too hot or too cold, just like chickens. If your brooder is big enough, use a lamp on one end and see where they go. If they all avoid the lamp, you could probably leave it off during the day, but still might want to use it at night. If they head for the lamp, then leave iton, or maybe center it a bit. Make sure you have some ventilation incase it is too warm during the day. Keep an eye on them and you should be able to tell what to do.

Thanks, I guess I'm just nervous. $300 worth of turkeys is a whole lot different than the chicks paid a buck or two for & I want to do it right.
