This reminds me of my last power outage . I have a power inverter that plugs into my cigarette lighter to give me a source of AC power when traveling . I was in the process of running an extension cord to power my TV [ LOL ] when the power came back on . You have to buy one that is built for a little higher " sustained " wattage than your incubator uses versus the " surge " rating of the inverter , but that should be relatively small with a small incubator and quite affordable . You can find inverters in the automotive or camping section at Walmarts or other such stores . I have found that its better to run my van while using the inverter ; my inverter sounds a warning that the incoming power has dropped below 12 volts in a very short time , so I just leave the van running so the alternator is keeping the battery charged . Remember to go for the bigger sustained rating and as short of extension cord as possible because it will draw more power to get the current to your 'bator .
PS : Besides electric heat and lights , I have a wood stove , kerosene heater , and ventless gas heater in my home for supplemental or emergency use ; plus candles , a kerosene lantern , an LED lantern that hand cranks to recharge , a cell phone that recharges off my cigarette lighter , and my laptop that can be recharged in the same manner and gets on the internet through a card by my cell phone server . All of these things can and might also be employed to save those eggs while remaining pretty comfortable in the home .
