Make Cochin's Broody?

Hi, i have two chochin hens. One is buff, the other is black. They will be a year in April. I also have a Bantam Rooster and he mates with the girls and they lay a lot of eggs. Though i want them to go broody so they will sit and hatch some babies. Is there any particular way to do this? I got some fake eggs and put two in their cage. Will this work, or am i wasting my time? Thanks!

I don't believe you can make then go broody, it just happens. I have a barred cochin and she will be a yr.old in May, and she has been broody twice already. First time was in Jan. and I would take any eggs and leave golf balls, but ended up taking her from the nest and giving her treats outside. She is broody again, and probably safe weatherwise to mother chicks, but I'm not ready for more.
