Make or female?

Yes these are our first chickens. Luck would have it that all but one ended up males. Haha. But we do have a large area they can free range in. We may try and get more hens and see how they act together. If not good I’ll just sell the other males off.

Since your only starting I don’t think it’s a good idea to get a heap of chickens to start with. I’d keep one rooster and get 10 hens. Start slow and develop your flock over time. If you want more then one roo I’d wait about a year just so you have an idea of the flow of things.

Definitely get more girls. :)

Even one male can be a challenge for chicken newbies. Selling all of them then getting a boy next year when you have some experience might be a good idea.

Any thoughts on this Dominique male or female? I bought it about 10 days ago straight run.

If they have grown up together they should be fine. They will be like adult brother (more or less) mostly getting aong with they occasional spat.
