Make your own feed?

Just got a coop and 6 beautiful chickens! Unfortunately when we picked them up from their previous owner to my disappointment they had been fed exclusively Purina chicken feed. We are currently looking for a local organic source which would be great however it would be wonderful to create our own feed. Suggestions?
