It depends on what strain of Marans I use. If I use the french strain (which have the feathered feet), I may have some with feathered feet. But if I use the English strain (which don't have feathered feet) I won't get any with feathered feet.
Oh ok. I think it varies for each Maran. But I think the feathered leg/feet gene would stay with the offspring.

I think your Marans rooster had a normal amount of leg feathering. Marans usually don't have as much leg feathering as a silkie or a cochin

Like I said in my post above, Marans usually have lightly feathered feet, so if I did use a french Marans instead of an english Marans it wouldn't be as much feathers on the feet (if there are any at all) like if I would use a cochin, that would give me LOTS of feathered feet
