I was wanting to make some Blue breasted Red modern game bantams. For me to use I have Lemon blue modern hens and and Black breasted red modern roosters. I know I could get one eventually, but I was wondering what breeding program I would have to follow. @NatJ

Breed the black breasted red together with the lemon blue hens then breed the lemon blue daughters back to their father and you should get some blue breasted red offspring.

Probably pretty simple: breed a bird that shows blue to a Black Breasted Red. Pick a chick that shows blue and breed back to a Black Breasted Red. Repeat until you've got the right results.

You can start selecting the potential breeders when the chicks are quite young. In each generation, you want to keep ones that show blue. If you see variation in the chick patterning, choose the ones that are right (probably chipmunk stripes) instead of the ones that are wrong (patterned like the Lemon Blues). Then mark the chicks, or sort them into different brooders, or otherwise make sure you can tell which ones were right. Being able to spot the "wrong" ones at hatch will also mean you can tell if you hatched enough chicks in one generation, or if you need to put more eggs in the incubator.

When the chicks get older you can look for other details that matter, but identifying some of the "wrong" ones at an early age will give you more options for what to do with them and when. You won't be forced to raise as many to older ages before you can start ruling them out.

Once you have them consistently showing the right chick patterning at hatch, you will have more good birds to pick from in each generation, so you can make faster progress on the smaller details.

(I see @Amer posted pretty much the same thing while I was typing.)

Also I was gonna make a new thread for it but I figure I will just ask you here. What do you know about the modifiers on ermine birds (namely ameraucanas)
What do you mean modifiers?
I prefer the term paint over ermine (because in other countries ermine means Columbian.)
I know paint usually has at least Extended Black, Melanotic, and one copy dominant white, but it may have other unknown melanizers which would help the black come through better. E/EMl/MlI/i+

I've heard that they are paints with modifiers on the genes to give the birds more black.
