making fodder will dumor scratch germinate

It will work. Just as long as it is not labeled as having an anti-germination chemical added to it. I do not think that is common, but I have seen it before. For people who DON'T want their fallen bird seed to sprout. I always have things growing under my bird feeders. Which is surprising since you would think the birds would clean it all up. And it is just sitting on the surface of the ground. No planting or watering or anything.

corn, wheat, milo, barley and sunflower. i'm seeing reviews that state crack not whole corn so there might be a lot of waste

Maybe just buy a bag of Sunflower seeds?
No waste and as you can see in the video, they like it more than the scratch sprouts.
Probably even more nutritious because of the huge cotyledons, which are nutrition storehouses.

Loaded with protein, vitamins and essential amino acids.

I planted these Sunflowers on Tuesday. They sprouted by Wednesday.
It's now Monday, Day 6.
I'll probably let the birds get at them tomorrow.
