So a month ago, I got 4 pullets from a local poultry swap (2 california greys @ 8 weeks old, an Ameracauna at 6 mo old and a Norwegian Jaerhon @ 5 weeks old). Originally they were scared to death of leaving their coop (they've warmed up to their coop now). Then, they were definitely afraid of me, now being a month later they see me as their friend and treat giver, they all squawk at me and brush up against my legs and stuff, eat out of my hands etc... I spend a lot of time with them and pet them on their roost at night and talk with them. BUT, THEY HATE TO BE PICKED UP, THE SLIGHTEST HAND MOVEMENT AND THEY RUN!! lol, I'm okay with it, I'm just wondering if anyone had a similar situation when they first got pullets, what they did and if they ever eventually warmed up more. All thoughts and are valued, thank you!
