For about 2-4 days my showgirl silkie has started doing the submission squat but today she has been digging out nests but no eggs. How long would it be until she lays her first egg?

Probably very soon. If you haven't already, I would put some wooden eggs in there.

To be more specific in the next week I think you should see some little eggs. How old is she?

My three non-silkies were laying within two weeks of these behaviors. So a reasonable assumption would be “soon.”
