My question is, as I have seen lots of people on here say they give their chickens fruits, veggies, scraps. Do you just throw them into the coop and they eat it (im thinking them eating dirt...ew) Or can you maybe get some sort of galvanized bucket and throw all the "treats" in it for them to eat?

They are going to peck at the dirt anyway. I always put their treats on the ground and they don't mind at all.
