I have a wood chipper and I was wondering if could chip some wood and use it as bedding? Is there any kind of wood I should stay away from?
Thanks in advance.

I would think sappy wood, chips that are sticky. I am considering chipping mesquite, but the thorns are pretty aggressive, so I figure I trial batch is necessary.

My chipper makes the chips small enough, so any dry wood should work. Keep in mind, wood chips even when poop covered will take a year to become compost. I use shredded non glossy paper. Can't use news print anymore, it jams up the shredder because it is so thin. I generally get enough from junk mail, catalogs and the like. If you have paper from work, shred would be great, you can use that. It decomposes in about 4 months.
