Malard chicks

My grandfather recently found 5 abandoned eggs, i was wondering(Mallard Owners) I live in a neighbor hood. i had a mallard as a kid but i dont remember it. Are they quiet and good for someone who lives close to their neighbors? i Really want to take them in.

Welcome! I think that migratory waterfowl (mallards) are federally regulated, and it takes some kind of permit to have them. Eggs might just be left alone briefly by the parents, or they might already be dead, if actually abandoned while developing. Mary
