So I have two pigeons that just hatch their eggs but the problem is they keep fighting that I had to remove the male from the hen and babies because I saw 1 squab injured .
what do you guys think is the reason for the fighting??

Some birds become overprotective when the squabs hatch. Generally they stop as the squabs grow. I would consider switching them back and forth so that both parents get to feed the squabs. Hen through the evening and early morning - cock during the day. Monitor to assure that the attending parent is brooding the squabs. Good luck. Are they first time parents ?

That is such good advice!! This q had me worried for the hen trying to feed the squabs on her own. We are so lucky you keep an eye on the pigeon forum for the hard and unusual questions!

When you say he isn't allowing the hen to sit on the babies, is he sitting on them? Is this only during the day? or at night too? because the males sit during the day, and females sit at night. Or is he not sitting on the babies either and trying to drive her on a new nest?
