Male duck chasing female

I had a lonely drake after his female was snatched by a coyote. So I got 3 females to help him be happy. One passed away within a week. No signs of trauma so now I have 2 females. The drake keeps chasing one female and is pulling out all her neck feather. Sometimes he mates with her but mainly seems to chase and attack. Is this normal? The poor girl looks miserable. Any advice is much appreciated

I don’t really have advice but posting in case someone does.
I’m sure you’ll get asked how long they’ve been together, how long did you have them separated before introducing them, ages, etc.

Yeah. Drakes can be jerks. Your female most likely does not want the male and is low on the pecking order. Unfortunately, there really is not much you can do to stop this behavior, other than to separate out the male. You may need to separate him out from time to time. I separate my drake out from time to time to give me females a break. But there are certain females he picks on despite having many other females. A higher female to male ratio can help reduce how often this behavior will happen to the one female, but it will unlikely stop.
