I hope I’m positing this in the right spot. I have 2 ducks (1 male 1 female), 1 rooster, 4 laying hens (currently) 12 more hens joining in 3 weeks.
My male duck goes after my rooster any time he tries to do his thing to the chickens. The rooster does do a dance, but each time he tries the duck goes after him.
Is this something that’s normal in a flock or something I should be concerned about?

One of my male ducks will actively go after my German shepherd flapping his wings and bite her on the nose to protect his flock. He's also, super sweet and everyone and every other animal loves him and he loves them. Sometimes they just don't like someone. I would also recommend chickens and ducks not being housed or in runs together.

I had a drake that used to attack a pet buck rabbit that shared the meadow. The two would really go at it- I was new to rabbits and it was a shock to see. The rabbit eventually tore the skin off the drake's neck. The duck lived, despite this injury. It's a testosterone thing. Not sure what you can do about it as I don't know your situation. I wish you luck.

If he is constantly trying to fight or being overly aggressive to the rooster I would probably think about finding a way to separate them. I have two young drakes in with my rooster and chickens at the moment until they are old enough to free range more, one of them likes to bite the roosters tail because he thinks its funny but it never escalates past that point
