Male duck lost his bonded pair

Hi everyone, I had to put down my female pekin today and her male buddy already seems very distraught. We have 2 other male ducks but they are not in the same enclosure with him because they are a different breed and never bonded with him. They are rather aggressive to him, unfortunately. I'm so sad for my pekin and was wondering...any tips to help him grieve? I don't know if seeing the other ducks in the adjacent enclosure is enough company for him but he's quite old, so finding him a new buddy is a challenge because I might be constantly finding new buddies, you know? Anyway, I'd welcome any advice. And yeah, it was generally an awful day for me as well.

Some waterfowl form extremely strong pair bonds. I once saw a Canada gander stay with the body of his road killed mate for 5 days. Hopefully your drake will not mourn too long.
