Hello,
I am trying to figure out the breed of the dark one and if they’re male female. They are 6weeks old.
TIA and have a great day.

Hi.

I am trying to figure out the breed of the dark one and if they’re male female.

Your "dark one" is a Blue coloured duckling.
As for the breed... maybe an Indian Runner...?

Could you post a picture of your ducklings standing?
It would, in fact, help greatly at determining their breed!

...Regarding your duckling's gender : you won't know just by looking at its fluff or feathers colour.
Indeed, Blue is not a colour sexable by the juvenile plumage.

They are 6weeks old.

Are you even sure your ducklings are 6-weeks-old?
Because at 6 weeks-old, most of a duckling's juvenile feathers should already have emerged...
But from what we can see on your pictures, your ducklings look to be around 3-weeks-old instead...?

You won't even be able to voice sex them if they are 3-weeks-old : even if one starts quacking now, it is is not always a definitive trait at this age.
(I already had drakes that QUACKED when they were ducklings/juveniles ducks! Even though they were boys, and NOT girls...!!)

► In fact, do you know how to voice sex a duck?

It is simple :
• duck hens quack - so they are loud;
• drakes have a raspy, froggish, king of broken voice - so they are more discret...

But wait for your duckling to be older before voice sexing them, since they are too young to be voice sexed accurately for the time being.

I’ve had them two weeks. Feed store said they were 4 so, I’m guessing 4+2 is still 6 right? Lol
I can take a couple pics later today.
Thanks for the reply.

They lied to you.
Or they might not have known better, perharps...?

In any case, your ducklings are NOT 6-weeks-old.

Here is a picture of some of my Indian Runner ducks when they were 6-weeks-old EXACTLY :

Do compare your Blue duckling with mine (6-weeks-old - again!) :

See how much my 6-weeks-old ducklings are feathered?

Some of them are even already sexable by their juvenile feathers, since, depending on their colour, it is possible to determine what gender a duckling is by the colour of its rump... even in its juvenile plumage!

Now, younger... at 3-weeks-and-2-days-old exactly :

And still at 3-weeks-and-2-days-old :

Again - 3-weeks-and-2-days-old :

See why I think your ducklings are around 3-weeks-old?

...Ending up with my Blue (Calico) boy... at 4-weeks-and-1-day-old :

I should have taken better pictures, but I hope these ones can still help you...?

I agree, looks to be a Blue Runner, and they look closer to 3 weeks old, not 6. It’s too early to sex visually. Could possibly sex them by voice, but it may not be 100% reliable at this age.
You can upload a video of their voices to some other site, like YouTube, and then post a link to the video here.

If the Feed store said they were four and you’ve had them for two weeks maybe the Feed store meant they had them for four days, and probably got them when they were 3 days, so that’s one week plus two weeks =3 weeks old now
I’m glad we’ve established math basics. Lol
They are 7 weeks and I’ve already figured out what they are.
Thanks
