Hi there. I have a male and female goose with my laying hens and roosters. They are 3 months old. They imprinted on me but the female has started staying away from me. Just won't get close. They have tried mating recently. The male always wanted to be by me and follow me. This week he started curling his neck toward his body and shaking when near me. I figure this is aggressive. Why would he start that now? Will he stop or get worse?
Thanks for any info.

Horomones, you can’t avoid them.

What you can do is spend as much time with them as possible to strengthen their bond with you. If they see you as just someone that they know who they only sort of see now and then he might perceive you as a rival and his aggression will get worse.

If he tries to attack you the best method is to pick him up and carry him a little distance before letting him back down, it’s a good way of reminding a gander who’s stronger. You do want him to view you as a family member and not a threat though so being calm throughout that “yes I know how impossible it can be to remain calm with an attacking gander” because if he thinks it’s an attack it only reinforces his aggression because he’ll just see you as a threat.
