I need some advise as what to do with this guinea. He's constantly tormenting and chasing one of my male ducks. The drake eventual gets tired and lays down or ends up clear out of the yard. This is the only guinea that chases/attacks, and it's only this particular drake. This guinea has never bothered any other species, and just started this with in the last couple of days. He was hatched in March. So only about 4 months old. They were all even brooded together... I hate to eat him, but the ducks are 4H projects. They aren't leaving.

Guineas go through a period n the spring or when they come to sexual maturity where they chase each other constantly... this is how the males show off for the females. If you have only one Guinea this is what he is doing. When its Guinea on Guinea there is feather pulling and some squabbling but usually no blood or damage. Guineas pair off Male Female eventually.

Hes just doing what Guineas do. It doesnt matter if he was raised up with the rest. They are the least domestic of all poultry. If you had a small flock of Guineas it would be better but there would be no guarantee. I had five males in my first flock I adopted them as three or four year old adults and they never messed with my chickens.

I saw them as a flock escort a Coyote off my property lunging at him and pecking at him. I have eighteen acres and lots of room for guineas and chickens to get away from each other.... But I have seen YouTube video of a small flock of three tackle a fighting cock and win.

I hear guineas are good eating though. He may not like it but Locking him up in a run may be your only optiion till he gets over his self. Fatten him up and have him for dinner. They are all dark meat. and probably about the size of a game hen.

Thanks for the info. Wasn't sure if that's what he was doing or if he was for some reason actually attacking the drake. Wasn't sure that he was old enough to be starting in those behaviors yet either.
