Definitely a rooster... Welsummers hens have a salmon colored breast and roos have black breasts...

A black breast and big red comb on an 8 week old Welsummer means it's a boy.

Definitely cockerel. If you bought the chick as a sexed pullet I'd take him back and as for a refund or a swap for a pullet.

She's a hobbyist, so they weren't guaranteed. But she said she might still have some girls I can trade for. The other breeds I got from her were "straight run", I ended up with two female and four male Marans, and the Americaunas are just enough younger that they all still look the same
