Im thinking of getting a mini piggie next year. I know someone who breeds them on a small scale and only offers a few litters a year. My question is, which ones make better pets, females or neutered males? Her females or more expensive than the males.

I think Nutered males are excellent pets with out the stud boar habits. If you get a female unfixed she will have heats and she sometimes will tend to be more grumpy during those times and in my opinion can be alot worst to deal with then a stud boars habits and some do and some don't but fixed gilts will have a great temperment too. I have a stud boar and he has a excellent sweet temperment but he does what a boar is supposed to when the girls are around but has no bad habits what so ever. There is Nothing wrong with getting a boar and fixing him so that he is a barrow which is a fixed male. He should act no different then a fixed dog.
