MALE OR FEMALE?

Breeders had discovered a simpler way to sort chicks: "feather" sexing. They had noticed that the wings on some female chicks were longer than those on males.

Just curious if anyone has looked into this?

I understood that just some breeds were feather-sexed, others have to be vent sexed.

Yeah, feather sexing is a common practice at hatcheries, they mate I think a fast feathering male with a slow feathering female and the feathers on the wings at hatch will look different.
