Male or female

I have approximately 21 hens, 5 of my cockerels haven’t started mating yet and they all get along.
I’m also working on re-homing some because I also don’t like culling, I don’t want my hens to get injured because of so many males mating with them.

It may stay that way...before I moved and rehome my prior flock I had a g
Free range flock of about 30 chickens. I had one older rooster who was wonderful and a polish roo who got along with him just fine. I then hatched out some of my shipped eggs and ended up with several more cockerels. I ran them all together with plenty of room and no issues. A few of the favorite hens I did put aprons on to protect their back feathers but there was never any bloodshed or agression from the roos.

It's tough sometimes, but necessary to make best breeding choices, and everyone can't stay in the breeding group, at least. For looks, he's a winner, but it all depends on your flock plans moving forward.
