Hi! I'm voting two cockerels for now. I can't see the area right in front of the tail in the photos to tell for sure.

Here's one of our PR RIR cockerels at 6 weeks old. Look at the (left) bald area on the back, in front of the tail. Those tiny, shiny pointed feathers (which take a few months to fully grow in) are saddle feathers, and only roosters have them. Does either of your birds have a baldish area with new feathers, or very shiny tiny, pointed feathers?

Ive took some more pictures these might be better. I can't see anything like that. But then again they won't come out to play today as it's wet and miserable here so can't have a proper look. I'll put the pictures on see if you can see.

Well typically but this isnt always true it depends on bthe breed, the males have pointed backish tail feathers and females have round. I think they are to young to tell that way but, i normally figure it out by looking at the bird as a whole. I look at the feather length, size of feat, if they have large spurs(females will have little button spurs), there comb size, wattles, the size of the bird compared to others of its age and type, how they interact with others like are they tall and proud watching over or are they just looking for food all the time. There are many ways to tell and you can nhever be sure, so dont get rid of them until your sure. How old are they.

They are 8-9 weeks. Since these are my only 2 and I've never had any before I can't compare them to others. They love scratching for food. I've decided to keep them now until I definately know for certain their males. After speaking to you id rather be safe than sorry.
