If it's on 24/7 during the cool months you won't have any effect now. The reason why I was wondering is because if you've had the heat lamp on for extended time, then began weaning him off of the heat lamp, reducing "daylight" hours, it can trigger a molt. Usually if you do 24/7 the body doesn't even react to it. The body's production of hormones is based on daylight and night time. You need both to actually change the level of hormones.The heat lamp is hanging off my back porch and stays on all the time during the cold months. When he's cold, Larry sits or stands underneath it. Since he's not caged, I figured he'd just regulate himself. Let me know if I should be doing something different.
