I would defer to the more knowledgeable, but would feel comfortable saying your eggs will be fertile with no male for a week to ten days. Quail are hens and cocks. Roo is common and easy... You can throw him in once and a while and he'll take care of business almost while you stand there, then take him back out.... hold your 2 eggs a day for 7 days and you have 14 for your new bator... 7 days after that, throw in another 14. Before long you have plenty of breeders and birds for the freezer too. Your hatch rate will likely be much higher than eggs you buy. Bill
