I picked up 4 straight run Mallards at TSC a month ago. 3 appear to be male (green tint on their heads and only 1 quacks). I also have 7 Khaki Campbells and 3 Pekins that are a few weeks younger than the Mallards. Will it be possible to keep the 3 males with the 11 females? The ducks have their own coop, but will range with the chickens. Thanks!

3: 11 is ok as there is 3-4 ducks per male - but if all the males are mallards- you will have a lot of cross bred babies if you let them breed. Maybe swapping a mallard for a Campbell or Pekin could be something for you to look into .

I am not looking to hatch any eggs....we want them for eating (the eggs that is)

I was just wondering if I was going to need to find homes for some of them. They are not the friendliest little guys, but I am working on giving them space, time and lots of peas.
