Male to Female ratio

HI what should be the male to female ratio with your standard Japanese quail. Ive heard that people have 1 male and 6 females but I would of thought you should have more like four females ??. I dunno ??

I originally had 1 male to 2 females (that's what the breeder sold) - bad idea. Once one hen's head was bald, the male soon turned to the next hen, who in-turn became bald and he resorted to pulling on the feathers above both the hens eyes to do his thing, if you know what I mean.

I would suggest 1 male to around 4 females, but you can have as many females as you want, it doesn't really matter, as long as you have more than four.
