Male turkeys dancing for mama turkey

Nice pics. That is what appears to be 3 bronze jakes and a Royal palm gobbler in the road. The bird inside the fence looks like a mature wild strain gobbler. I would guess mom turkey is a bronze/Royal Palm mix and those babies likely are the result of that wild strain bird breeding their mom.

Interesting. What is a "wild strain gobbler"? Is this what my neighbor means when he says his turkeys are wild?

I am loving having them around, but if he doesn't take them, then I will have 10 adults and I know I don't want them going over the fence where the chickens are! They have not done that, though, so maybe they won't.

Eastern Wild Turkey. The bird in the fence is not a bronze. His tail markings and dark color look like a wild strain. The birds in the road have a white bamd on the tail. If they are wild strains then they have to be Rio Grande or Merriams. They look identical to the bronze turkeys I have raised before.

Your mommy turkey and that Royal Palm in the road are definatly not wild.

My turkeys are not mean at all, really come right up to me and take apple, I can pick the Tom up. They are good with the ducks, chickens and Guineas, but now with mommy turkey paying attention to the 2 new babys, the Tom is frustrated and fighting with my Rooster so we now have him penned for a while.
