mallard cant breed help

i have 5 mallard 3 boys and 2 girls i know i need another girl but i have a extra male for a back up on my females so if one does not like the male she has well any way they are all 9 months old and my male will mount his female but nothing will happen does he know what to do he will see my scovy mating but when he mounts it like he get his penis to come out to breed or some thing he is very clean and no other mallard male is breeding yet what do i need to do to get him to breed my girl he is my biggest mallard boy so far and i want his baby's

Do they have a pond or pool to swim in? Drakes breed more readily in the water. That being said with three drakes their is the possibility of gang breeding and drowning the hens. I've never had a drake that didn't eventually breed.

they have a pool and my mallard pair make sure the extra male stays away from there females

I have read on this forum that some drakes, well, it takes them some extra time to figure out what is what.
