My 2 month old mallards have the female coloration. They don't have any green on the neck at all. Does that mean that they are females or could they grow into their male color at some later point. I was under the understanding that they were supposed to be males.

Their beaks are dark brown with a little light brown on the edge.

I guess they might be girls

Anyone ever seen a cross between a Pekin and a Mallard ?

I guess they will be whiter and fatter looking mallards?

Thanks for the information. Turns out the males have yellow beaks and mine do not so my male mallards are actually females. Since my pekins ARE males I will have crosses.

I found a picture of the cross / hybrid myself

Whereas the Pekin can't fly at all, these can fly up about 10 feet high. I kind of like the way the mix is going to look.
