Hi,

I have two 16 week old Mallard females and one of them makes a loud - high pitched sound ( like a chirp or sharp sneeze ) when she gets excited and very chatty. The other one doesn't do this. They are both perfectly healthy in all ways - is this something to be concerned about?

Does she otherwise have a deep quack?
Yes, she and her sibling ( from different clutches ) are both extremely chatty. I've never in my 20 years of having pets ducks had duckies this noisy.

If I put a new toy or even a balled up sheet in their pen, they go nuts with excitement and make all kinds of "weird" sounds.

If I don't get them their food and water soon enough in the morning, they will sometimes fly into my bedroom to get me up.

It may be an individual quirk, do you have a video of it by any chance?

Thank you for the response!

No, I don't have a video, but I will record the next time they get all riled up.

It will most likely be taken where they don't see the camera because they freak out if I go near them with it.
