Yeah I also was unaware when I got her, I just needed one more duck to fill my order and figured it'd be nice to have a mallard again. I had them when I was a kid and never saw the crazyness but I don't think we ever lost ducklings without also losing the mom. I know they aren't all like that but something to keep in mind for sure. I might have been able to lock her up for a few weeks and have that chill her out but I live in the desert and it's not unlikely that she'd lose a brood again and I had other young ducks she was trying to murder so decided the best thing to do would be to put her down.
