But they are unfertilized! Is it normal for them to lay this early? Little new to this. I thought they did so in Spring!
How can I make her more comfortable? I put towels down for her to rest on when she is labored.

Anything to help her with her diet during this time? :-)

Ducks can lay at anytime of the year but most take a break when there is less daylight. Is she a house duck? Laying eggs doesn't hurt them but a nice soft area for them is nice. She should be switched over to layer feed and given free choice oyster shell. Congrats! Also the egg being fertile or not doesn't make a difference :) ducks lay no matter what.

Thanks for the advice. Nothing is too good for Princess Mallory! She is a house duck. ;-)

But I did notice little droplets on her towel that are reddish brown. Is that normal as well?
She is pooping fine though. And doesn't look in pain.

She has been keeping us up at night because she has been cooing. And not the cute pleasant coo. Hee hee. But I am patient with her.
