Mallard lover

My male roen had a beautiful green head and now has spots of brown, especially around the eye area. Is he sick?

Don't worry he is not sick. Rouens and Mallards go through a molting sage called eclipse. They molt out of their breeding plumage, (green head) and then after they are done molting they will have the hen coloration.
