Mallards scared of me?

Ten mallards a week old today. They are scared featherless of me. I've tried treats, I spend time with them, I try not to hold them unless necessary. Is it something I'm doing or are mallards just scared. Also they are in my garage and it's about 80 out. I don't need the heat lamp on them anymore do I?

I've always found mallards to naturally be more skittish. If you continue with the treats you might be able to win them over eventually.

What are your nightly temperatures?

I would personally advise still using a heat lamp then.
