Mama abandoned eggs in the process of hatching

No, don't turn them, just lay them on their sides. Momma will most likely be thrilled to have the babies added to the clutch, just keep an eye on her the next morning to make sure she accepts the new babies, but she should.

Well, that's good news that Mama will take them back. Of course you realize, my 4 little girls think THEY are the Mamas now so I will have to wait until they go to bed to try it.

Happy update + more drama. Okay, both rescued eggs hatched and hardy. I went out to check on the Mama and original 3 chicks only to find that I had forgotten to take the broody pan of water out and 1 chick had fallen into it! The water was shallow but the sides of the pan too tall for him to get out. He was cold, wet and exhausted. SHAME ON ME! Rushed him into the house, dried him as best I could and placed him under the heat lamp for about 3 hours. Starting to get dark so we went to see if Mama was bedded down for the night. She was. Took the 3 chicks out to her and she was very happy to take them in! And they were very happy to see her! So now a happy group of 5 chicks right where they are supposed to be. I also candled a couple more of the rescued eggs and I think I see movement in 1 so we'll see how that turns out. Thank you everyone for your help!
