My ancona hen has recently hatched 6 ducklings. They have a large enclosure with a big old cubby house shelter.
Since having the babies she keeps them outside of the shelter. She still sits on them and huddles them around her but she doesn't seem to take them inside. Has this happened to anyone else? Just a bit concerned for the ducklings.

They definitely don't need to be out overnight. start training with treats of some kind, my ducks love mealworms but it can be something else that your ducks go for. If you feed anything inside though you are going to have to put water in also. Is there a pen around the coop? if there is then herd mama and ducklings inside slowly using your arms to guide. :welcome

There's a pen around the coop. I'm just nervous about bothering her with the babies to much - will it be ok?

Mama ducks don't always know what's best with these little ones so vulnerable to predators and weather. She may not like you messing with her and her ducklings but you need to train them the coop is their safe place. And please share some pictures when you can.
Mama and babies have been in the secured coop now and do go inside the house that is inside the secured coop. Theyre safe and growing like weeds :)
