We have a female Peking duck and she laid 18 eggs and started sitting on April 1st. She now only has 6 eggs left and she is still sitting. She gets off one time a day. They have a horrible smell but she refuses to leave the nest. What are we supposed to do?

I’m replying cause I will have the same questions soon. I’m hoping you get some answers. My girls are on day 10/11. They are Peking as well. Some of the info I got on here said Peking are not good sitters, some say they will abandon their eggs and give up at some random point in time and so far my girl has been loyal and doing all the right things. I’m excited to see ducklings if that happens. My concern is they keep laying eggs with the nesting eggs daily. I just wished they would be done laying and they would not put any additional eggs on the nest. Not sure how to stop that.

I don't know how to help. I never got any reply's to help me. My mama sat for 45 days and I finally had to take her eggs from her. They were rotten with a horrible smell. She was so upset and kept sitting on her empty nest. It was heartbreaking. She still isn't acting right and I don't know how to help her. I hope you figure out the questions you need answers too.

Thanks, we will see. No matter what I’m sure our horns have the best duck life ever! 💕
