Mama Fuzz second hatch along 🐣

Mama Fuzz has officially gone broody as of yesterday. She is on a total of 10 eggs. This would be day 2. Starting a thread to hatch along. Wish her luck!

She succesfully hatched 10 chicks last fall & did lovely. This will be her second time broody and we are looking forward to seeing her do her mama hen thing! I will post pics along the way. 19 days to go!

Quick update! We are due to hatch on Easter Sunday.... SO excited!

We did a quick candle today when Mama Fuzz hopped off for a snack. We removed 4 duds and kept what Im thinking are 10-12 viable hatches. Wahoo, go mama go!

If my days are right, we are on day 24. One egg hatched this afternoon, a dark colored chick. Seemed to be fine until night time. I found it laying outside the nest box, cold. I brought it inside and warmed it up. It was still alive when I took it back out and put it under Mama. FINGERS CROSSED.
Spot checked a few eggs and they appear to be ready to hatch.... Hoping tonight or tomorrow.

The chick is alive this morning..
No other eggs have hatched yet..... Today has GOT TO BE the day!!

Day 26 (I'm pretty sure, could be off)....
One more hatched yesterday, so we now have 2 babies. The dark chick has survived and looks well and the new chick is light colored. I did find one that had hatched out or maybe it had gotten crushed, but the chick was not devoleped fully and did not survive. Mama Fuzz is still sitting on the remainder of the eggs. We candled them a few days ago and they appeared more than ready to hatch....I am sure we have staggered hatch days in the clutch, but I didn't think they were THAT far apart. Last time we blocked off the nest box so the other hens could not get to it, this time we left it and I know other hens got in there a few times. I guess only time will tell today. I am really hoping we have the rest hatch today.
