Mama hen in a broody enclosure

Ah yes, that's human door lol.

Should I just open brooder door and let her come out in her own time? She's been in there since....Sunday I believe. She gets up to eat and drink in there but then immediately goes back to nesting mode. Will she stop wanting to sit soon?
How long had she been setting before you gave her the chicks?
Was she setting in the brooder or....?

How is the transition between coop doors and run?
If there are steps or a ramp she may not be able to get the chicks back into the 'safe place'(brooder).

I'd wait a full week from the time you gave her the chicks.
She should take care of them for at least 4 weeks, could be longer until she 'weans' them.

Guessing you've never had a broody before?
This is a great thread for reference and to ask questions.
It's a long one but just start reading the first few pages, then browse thru some more at random. https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/broody-hen-thread.496101/

She had been sitting for about 3 weeks before I gave her some day olds. She was in elevated nest box before being moved. She was orignally given 4 chicks but one died, not sure how, but was discovered being mutilated by my other hens in the run, so that's why we built a brooder for her.

The pop door has a single retaining wall block step to transition into run.

Never had a broody. All my hens are isa browns so I thought I wouldn't end up with one, but surprise, lol.

I'll check out that link, thank you.
