Help. Big Mama Latrice is not feeling well. She is a bit lethargic, yesterday she was just laying down falling a sleep. Her head & tail feathers are pointing down. She is eating & drinking. No blood in her poop, I checked her for lice & mites, nothing. No mucus on her eyes or peak. I have added electrolytes in the water & oregano infuse supplement. I give them every week a mash of pumpkin seeds, garlic, oregano, mint, basil, lemon balm & lavender. Her two sisters are doing fine, as well as her babies. Latrice has not layed an egg since 05/13/2018 (Been Broody twice, and hatched 2 chicks on 6/6/2018). Planning on going to TCS at my lunch break, so I hope I can guy whatever you guys recommend. She will turn 1 year on August 18th.

Her droppings are white & watery. I have been giving her Tylan 50 & applying VetRX, not sure if its respiratory. She layed an egg two days ago, was her first egg since 5/13. She wont eat or drink, I have been giving her water & vitamins with a syringe. I think she might have an internal problem. Thank you for replying, appreciate you are trying to help me.

has the Tylan Shown any effect yet? If she’s not eating or drinking I would definitely get her some Nutri drench for her right now. I’m thinking it might be internal to if her droppings are looking like that. And how long has she been feeling like this? Is there any other signs of respiratory? And one last question. Sorry so many but just trying to help you narrow it down. Has there been excessive heat?

Sorry I meant to ask her age also. That’s a long break from Laying Unless she was molting but this is a very time odd of year for that. But can happen

I am not certain if Tylan has helped. She is showing a bit more strength, but not sure if its the Tylan. She will turn 1 on August 8/13. She did not lay because she was broody & was raising two chicks. I live in Houston, so we been around 100 degrees every day for the last two weeks. I notice she was weak on Tuesday. I am giving her something like Nutri Drench from Tractor Supply. I am planning on giving her 3 more shots of Tylan, since I only given her two. I been also giving her water when I get home since she does not drink.

Can you check her abdomen for boating, her breast muscle for wasting, and her crop for proper function? It should be full before going to roost and empty first thing in the morning. How does her vent and surrounding area look?

She is not eating, so her crop is empty. No boating in her abdomen, I looked for squishy/watery abdomen, nothing. Her vent is fine, clean.

Not that this is going to help her problem but maybe you can try to give her some hard-boiled egg or wet crumbles , something really tasty just to get some food in her. Maybe she’ll eat something of that nature at least to get food in her till the problem is figured out
