That will help for sure. Also, humidity in my house is about 59% do you think this is ok? I also have the damp towel that increases the humidity.
following.... My first attempt at eggs (using a tiny 4 egg incubator) broke a week before the hatch. I was forced to use a heating pad and it seemed to work. I already had seen the chicken eggs did not develop but the duck egg was alive and moving. Unfortunately i do not think it was humid enough (from what I read) and that MAYBE the reason my duck was born breach and did not make it. It was horrible... I had one more egg under the heating pad that I put in 11 days after I put in the other eggs. I have kept up the heating pad contraption (egg on a think square plastic pot scrubber in a dish that I add water too and have heating pad on top and a light pillowcase over it with a light weight on top (roll of toilet tissue). I have been just keeping my routine up about turn the egg..turn the egg...turn the egg... check temp...check temp...add water to sponge... Not thinking it was even going to develop. Today I candled it and IT IS GROWING. Now I am frantically nervous all over again. I don't want to endure another horror hatching.
