Spoke with the Zoning Enforcement Officer here in Manchester, CT today, and was told that my house is "zone A residential". No chickens allowed. I can pay $160 to file a variance and file an appeal. Thoughts? Has anyone done this? Anyone in the area? Neighbors have all given their verbal ok, I could get signatures if that would help. Compile a list of nearby towns that allow chickens?

I'm planning to file my variance, but also start a petition. Does anyone have a handy printable flier with positives of chickens, and suburban areas that allow chickens?

Stacey, I'm good with research. Will be happy to look on the net - there are a few CT towns that recently changed zoning to allow them. I bet there is a pamphlet on the web with the positives. I will look for it and get back to you. Patty
