Mandarin Ducks...

Hi! I was wondering what kind of personality mandarin ducks have. I was thinking about getting some but would like some feedback on what it's like to own them.
The only thing I've ever really raised are pheasants. Are they anything like pheasants? Anyway, please let me know anything you can! I'm very interested in them.

A friend of mine used to raise them, they are naturally shy and don't become tame like domestic ducks as far as I know. They are usually kept in aviaries or in an open run, but then usually clipped ( or pinioned) to prevent them from flying away. They like to perch up and don't quack loudly.
