Are Mandarin ducks good and easy to take care for. Are they quiet and can live in a home owners association ran neighborhood. and are they easy to get in the eastern united states. Is the male loudest or is the female the loudest.

Thanks

They are pretty quiet, they just make whistling noises sometimes. I would say the male is loudest because he makes his noises a lot, but when the female wants, she can make semi-loud noises. However, none of these noises are loud at all. They are fairly easy to take care of and you should have a proper enclosure because they can fly if not pinioned. I'm located in Northern, Ohio. There is a lot more info on them on my website.

They are so quiet that they are not seen or heard. LOL. We have a pair that we bought at 7 months. We have had them since October. They will not come out for anything. We have to attempt to open the house door. When we do, they come out for a second and then run back in. They are beautiful, though (when we get to see them).
