Just shot this fox a second time. First time he moved just in time so I got his back legs. That was 3 weeks ago. I have never seen a fox with this much mange. He had been killing my chickens and ducks left and right. Is there anything I need to put around where he had been living to keep my pets from getting mange?

Mange is spread by mites. Sarcoptic mange is especially contagious, especially if another animal is in close contact with the affected animal. The sarcoptic mange mite can only complete its life cycle with a canine host, but the mites will also bite cats & humans before they die. If the fox has been living in areas where your pets have close contact, you can treat those areas with a strong permethrin same as used to treat flea and tick infestations. You are probably fairly safe right now due to cold temps and snow on the ground. I.e. your environment not very condusive to flea, tick or mite survival at this time.

Thank you I was worried about that

When I got them on my cameras they looked fluffy. I have several game cameras up on my property. This one I trapped. It was showing up during the day and killed a bird when I let them out. It was mangy and stinky. You can't tell from the picture.
