When in tractor supply the other to buy some chick starter I noticed they had Manna Pro egg maker on sale $2 off so I bought a bag. They claim it will increase omega 3 fats and make the yolks darker. I started giving it to my coturnix a couple days ago. Has anyone else tried this product?

I looked it up and it only has 18% protein, it's formulated for chicken layers not quail. Laying Coturnix need more than that, 24-26% is optimal. You can ferment it to increase the protein content but I don't know if would increase enough or not. If you can find 30% turkey starter you can mix them.

I should have made clear this is a supplement that is added to the food. I do feed 24% dumor chick starter. Only 1/4 teaspoon per bird a day is added to the feed. It is not to be used as a complete food.
